LAS VEGAS ELOPEMENT & WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER FOR UNCONVENTIONAL, LAID-BACK LOVERS
Amie & Chris | Dry Lake Bed BIRTHDAY Elopement | Peachy Keen Unions, Cultivate Goods & Heads Will Roll
Amie and Chris have been together since August of 2010 and have two beautiful children. Amie owns and operates a cute boutique, Oaklyn Reece, in Kansas and Chris stays home with the kiddos and helps run the business side, too. Theses two have worn wedding rings for quite some time and even referred to each other as husband and wife. But it wasn't until now, out in the Vegas desert, that they were legally wed and made it official!
Their trip to Las Vegas was planned to celebrate Chris's birthday! Soon his birthday celebration turned into them joking that they would just get married, and that joking turned into a REALITY! Chris didn't seem to mind one bit that he got to marry the love of his life on his birthday. Amie said, 'If I find a wedding dress in time, then it's happening, we are getting married in Vegas.' She found the perfect dress in her size. It was all meant to be and they started planning their elopement out in the desert!
They looked into wedding chapels, but that just wasn't their style. When they stumbled upon desert elopements and my Instagram page, Amie & Chris were sold. That was what they wanted. They wanted it to be just the two of them, sharing vows and their love with each other in the openness of the Dry Lake Bed. They chose the best Las Vegas Officiant, Angie, of Peachy Keen Unions and my favorite florist, Sara, with Cultivate Goods created this stunning green and white bouquet and boutonniere. The hanging, off-centered ivy of the bouquet was my favorite part. It was all so beautiful.
Her jewelry is from her boutique and she wore her charm bracelet with photos of her babies. Her kiddos requested that she wear it! How sweet is that? After they were all ready, they Facetime-ed their two little ones, so they could see mommy and daddy all dressed up to go get married. It was such a sweet moment and they were so excited for them!
Chris shared how he vowed to always let Amie know his expectations and what he needed from her. The couple tries to sit down monthly and tell each other what they need in their relationship and from each other. Angie and I were both so impressed by this! These two have the whole relationship/marriage thing figured out before they were even married! They both finished their vows with 'I love you to the moon (and to the dirt and trees) and back', a saying they use with each other and their kids.
Amie walked into the wedding dress shop and said, 'I need a dress, today, haha.' She luckily found a few in her size that she loved. She had in narrowed down to two: a large gown or a more simple, boho dress. She took the advice of her father, 'If you don't get the big one, you'll regret it.' I'm so glad she listened to her dad; her dress was so elegantly perfect against the dry, desert landscape!
Amie planned the entire elopement in a week! Who needs months and months and years anyway? Chris and Amie say they wouldn't have wanted it any other way. They are so happy they chose to elope, so happy everything fell into place all too easily. It was meant to be. Even the weather was perfect, although it was a tad warm. But here in Vegas, we will take warm over scorching, haha.
Dear Amie & Chris,
I wish you two many, many more years of happiness together! You're such an inspiration to me and are serious #relationshipgoals. It was apparent the love you have for each other and for your two beautiful children throughout the day. I'm so happy you chose to elope in Vegas! Thank you, Chris, for allowing your birthday trip to turn into an elopement trip! :) It was the perfect day and I'm so excited to see what the future holds for you both and your sweet little family!
Much love always, Kristen
