Josianne & Louis-Philippe Dry Lake Bed Elopement
Josianne & Louis-Philippe along with their daughter, Dalie, as a witness came all the way from Canada. The couple decided to wed in the Las Vegas desert: to be in the warmth of the sun, surrounded by nothing and no one for miles. The Dry Lake Bed, just outside of Vegas, was the perfect backdrop for this simple, modern and sweet wedding ceremony.
The couple met in their teens at a friend’s place and officially started dating after they went to a fair together. They rode rides and Louis-Philippe won her a teddy bear. From then on they were inseparable. Their 20th anniversary together was just recently on June 24th. I can't think of a more perfect way to celebrate such a milestone in their relationship, can you?

This simple little desert elopement was the perfect celebration of 20 years together. And having their daughter present and a part of the ceremony was so important to Josianne and Louis-Philippe. Dalie got to witness the love and devotion her mom and dad have for each other and for her. It was so special and absolutely perfect.

"We never have really wanted to get married until this year. I don’t remember how I came across pictures of elopement in the desert on Pinterest or Instagram, but it kind of open a new perspective for me. We could elope just the three of us, and it could be very simple, but out of the ordinary... and in the desert! We thought it was a good way to mark the anniversary, and good memories to create for our family." -- Josianne
After the couple read their vows to one another, which were complete with a hand drawn heart on the back, Louis-Philippe pulled a small bag out of his pocket. Inside was a little necklace for Dalie. Having their daughter present as well as having her involved in the ceremony was so important to the couple. Dalie is their whole world and they wanted her to feel and know that!

They danced and twirled under the moonlight. They held each other close, they walked around the dry dead landscape, laughing, holding hands and celebrating their love for each other.
I captured this little family's love until it was too dark to see. Every moment was too precious and all too perfect. I couldn't stop photographing, I couldn't put my camera down. From the little details to their loving connection, this elopement has my heart and always will!
"And from the day we decided to do it, everything went so well. I don’t know how to explain it. Everything fell into place, even the macaroons! I was thinking about getting some macaroons, but I kind of abandoned the idea, because we didn’t know where we could find them and we didn’t have time to shop. And then, we were leaving the food market when we saw them. It was like that for all of the preparations! Nothing is perfect, of course, but I could say that our wedding was perfectly imperfect!"
