SUNRISE LAS VEGAS ELOPEMENT
sequin gown & floral suit
The flat, cracked earth of the Dry Lake Bed just outside of Las Vegas, is unlike anything Australia has to offer. Australia has loads of beautiful beaches and of course incredible wildlife. But for these two traveling from Australia, they wanted something Australia didn’t offer, the flat, vastness of the dry lake with the bald desert mountains in the distance. The beauty of the desert at sunrise is unmatched. It’s a magical time in the desert when the sky glows pink and yellow and casts long shadows. The morning is calm and peaceful and cooler than the hot summer days.
Color, art, and fun was the wedding theme for this artsy Australian duo. Jess' gown was stunning with the shimmery, colorful sequin. The colorful, summery bouquet by Rooted Willow included bright yellow peonies, deep purple ranunculus and hints of pink too. After they were married by Angie, with Peachy Keen Unions, we played with colorful smoke bombs and the couple celebrated becoming Mrs. and Mrs. by throwing biodegradable, rice paper confetti into the air!

Jess’ multi-colored, fitted sequin gown is from Jovani. The most stunning gown, that looks pink or green or blue or some beautiful combination of all the colors! This unconventional wedding gown was the perfect complement to the muted tones of the desert landscape. Jess wore pink snakeskin boots under her long gown, that peaked out when she walked. Jade wore a deep plum suit with large floral print, a pink bowtie, and shiny black clogs with buckles.

Along with the beauty, getting married at sunrise was a no brainer so the newlyweds could attend Lady Gaga’s Enigma Show that evening. Jess is thee biggest Lady Gaga fan and got her nickname, Tuesday, from her too.
Jess' nickname story told by Jade:
"During one of Gaga's tours in Australia a few years back, Jess camped out for one of her shows for like 6 nights (she's nuts hahaha) and had a meet and greet with Gaga after the show. The show was on a Tuesday and when Jess walked into backstage Gaga said 'It's Tuesday!' and it stuck amongst all the crazy Aussie Gaga fans. We actually have tickets to see Gaga's Enigma show in Vegas on our wedding day! The perfect way for us to finish up a rad day.”
Can you guess the original artist of the song used in the Super 8 video?

From the moment Jade met Jess in the restaurant where she worked, Jade knew she would be someone special. Jade wrote her name and number with eyeliner on a little piece of paper and left in on the table for Jess, hoping she would call after her shift ended.
And she did!

The two sweethearts have been building a life together and always knew they wanted a unique, artistic, unconventional elopement but chose to wait until their marriage would be recognized in Australia.
Downtown Las Vegas was a must with its colorful, fun and of course artsy vibes. Jade and Jess cut their cute Oreo cake under the pink Andre building. The conceptual space and idea by Andre Saraiva, a jet setting artist who created the space for 'Life is Beautiful'. He titled his work, ’The Empty Club’ and I can’t think of a better location for an elopement reception, haha!
The couple shared their first dance, twirling and spinning as locals and tourists walked by congratulating the gorgeous couple. Jess’ gown twinkled in the bright desert sun and the reflections danced all around the building. Pure magic.
The Downtowner, just off of Fremont Street, is a Mid Century Modern hotel that has been newly remodeled. The Downtowner has a fun vibe with a cute little cafe, gated pool area, and courtyard with mini golf.

Fremont Street area in Downtown Las Vegas is filled with colorful murals, neon signs, and rad old buildings with loads of character. Downtown Las Vegas has a retro, artsy vibe. It's very different than The Strip, which offers luxurious new architecture, which is beautiful, but the crowds of people and strict rules make it hard to capture it for wedding portraits. Downtown has a more local, laid-back vibe, which is much preferred for elopement and wedding portraits.
